The question isn't, "can God handle it"...the real question is, "will you finally let Him?"
Some of us are tired for reasons we don’t even fully understand. Not just physically. But emotionally. Mentally. Spiritually. Because somewhere along the way, we started carrying things God never asked us to carry. We carry:
- The pressure to provide
- The pressure to figure everything out
- The pressure to fix what feels broken
- The pressure to hold everyone else together
And the longer we do it, the heavier life becomes.
Sometimes what feels like responsibility is actually self-reliance. And self-reliance can quietly become anxiety. Because depending on yourself means placing the full weight of your life on shoulders that were never designed to hold it. That’s why Proverbs reminds us to “Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions…” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Trust is difficult because control feels safer. But control can also become the very thing that keeps us exhausted.
In Luke 5, Peter had already worked all night. He was tired. Frustrated. Disappointed. And then Jesus tells him to go back out.
From a human perspective, it made no sense. But Peter responds: “Because You say so…”
That simple act of trust changed everything. The miracle wasn’t just in the fish. The miracle was in Peter letting go of his own understanding.
The Weight You Were Never Meant to Carry
Some of us are carrying: Fear about the future; Financial pressure; Relationship pain; and even Hidden anxiety. And God is asking the same question today: Will you trust Me with what you’ve been trying to manage alone? Because peace doesn’t come from controlling everything.
Peace comes from surrendering everything.
Jesus Still Extends the Invitation
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out? Come to Me…”
That invitation still stands.
Not: Fix yourself first.
Not: Get stronger first.
Just: Come.
