It's one thing to believe in Jesus. It's another thing to stay close to Him.

Psalm 16:11 NLT

REFLECTION

In John 15, Jesus doesn’t invite us into activity, He invites us into abiding. Into remaining. Into closeness.

Abiding isn’t about doing more for God. It’s about being with Him.

Intimacy isn’t built in emotional spikes. It’s built in repeated proximity. In choosing to come back. In staying a little longer. In talking to Him throughout your day. In making space for Him in ordinary moments.

Jesus says, “Remain in My love.” That means intimacy is not something you earn, it’s something you stay in. You don’t grow close to someone through occasional intensity. You grow close through consistent presence.

This week isn’t about trying harder. It’s about staying nearer. Not perfect, but intentional closeness. Because fruit grows naturally when connection is steady. And intimacy grows when you choose to stay.

Choose to Stay.

Journal Prompt

Take a moment to reflect and answer the following questions in your journal:

  • What pulls me away from consistent time with God?

  • When do I feel most spiritually disconnected?

  • What small daily rhythm could help me stay connected?

  • Do I treat my relationship with God as a moment or a lifestyle

Prayer

Jesus, teach me how to stay connected to You. Not just in emotional moments, but in my everyday…ordinary life. Amen.
