REFLECTION

After realizing how deeply God knows us, a question typically follows: If God really sees everything…will He still want me? Jesus answers that question clearly: Yes. His invitation has never been “fix yourself, then come.” It has always been simply…come.

Come tired.
Come unsure.
Come with questions.
Come with doubts.
Come with things you’re proud of, and things you’re not.

So many of us relate to God like we’re being evaluated. We try to pray the right words, feel the right emotions, or become the right version of ourselves before approaching Him. But Jesus describes relationship differently…as rest, relief, and welcome.

God is not waiting for a more polished version of you. He is inviting the real you into relationship today. And He doesn’t wait for us to get ready “to come”. He invites us to come just as we are…flaws and all.

This week is about releasing pressure, and receiving welcome. You don’t have to impress God to be close to Him. You only have to come

Journal Prompt

Take a moment to reflect and answer the following questions in your journal:

    • Where do you feel pressure to “perform” spiritually?

    • What parts of myself do I think God might reject?
    • What does rest in God’s presence feel like for me right now?

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for inviting me exactly as I am. Hep me release pressure, drop my guard, and trust that I am truly welcome with You. Amen.
