Saying YES to God isn't always easy, but it's always worth it.
In 1 John 4:19, we’re reminded that “we love because He first loved us”. Our response to God begins with an understanding of His love. When we truly believe that God loves us deeply and perfectly, fear begins to lose its grip. Perfect love drives out fear, not partially, not eventually…but completely.
Fear often tries to show up when God invites us into something new. A new season. A new level of obedience. A new way of trusting Him. Yet Proverbs 3 challenges us not to rely on our own understanding, but to trust God from the bottom of our hearts. Saying yes requires humility—admitting that we don’t know it all and choosing intimacy with God over independence from Him.
In Acts 9, Saul’s life is radically transformed by an encounter with Jesus. But the story doesn’t stop there. God also speaks to Ananias—asking him to go lay hands on the very man known for persecuting believers. Ananias’ obedience required courage, trust, and a willingness to say yes even when it didn’t make sense.
God promises peace to those whose minds are stayed on Him (Isaiah 26:3). He invites us to delight in Him, commit our ways to Him, and trust that He will bring His promises to pass (Psalm 37:4–5). He is our refuge, our strength, and our very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46).
This isn’t life as usual. We are called to an unusual life. One marked by trust, abundance, and bold faith. When God calls, may we have the courage to say YES.
