Seasons change—but God never does.
In our recent message, New Season…Same God, Pastor Sylvester reminded us that while life may bring new challenges, responsibilities, and transitions, the heart of God’s care for us remains constant.
We started with a foundational truth from 1 Peter 5:7 (TPT):
“Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.”
God invites us to rest, refresh, and release our burdens to Him. As Jesus said in Matthew 11:28–30, He is our oasis, our rest, and our source of strength.
The Call to Say “Yes”
Throughout Scripture, men and women of faith—Abraham, Moses, Mary, Paul, the disciples, and even Jesus—had defining moments where they said yes to God. Their yes disrupted their routines, but it also unlocked purpose, blessing, and destiny.
Pastor Sylvester challenged us with this question:
Have you said yes to God in this season?
Because when you do, every area of your life shifts—your walk, your decisions, your relationships, your identity.
Renewing Your Mind
Another key takeaway was the importance of renewing our minds. As Romans 12:1–2 reminds us, transformation begins with shifting our thinking. Renewing your mind is like installing a spiritual software update. The enemy studies your old habits, but when you update your thinking with God’s Word, those old attacks can’t take hold anymore.
Walking with Wisdom
God’s wisdom allows us to live beyond cultural expectations. As Proverbs 16:9 says, “We plan the way we want to live, but only God makes us able to live it.”
Instead of striving, worrying, or performing for acceptance, we can walk confidently in the truth that our identity is found in Christ.
Final Encouragement
Your “yes” matters. It may not always feel convenient, but it will always be worth it. As Matthew 5 reminds us, you are called to be salt and light—living in such a way that others encounter God through your example.
So as we step into this new season, let’s hold fast to the truth that while seasons change… our God remains the same.
